The Solo is scaled-down (to 0.91 scale) from the T2 Competition
and has a simpler panel layout. It is re-engineered for solo flying.
The 2005 specification brings the kite right up to date. It is still
very precise, stable and very easy to fly with all the 'old-school'
tricks in the axle and flat spin groups.
The new specification brings in a whole new range of 'nu-skool'
tricks in backspin and roll up groups, with a new hotrod kit
comprising ballast weights and roll up lines.
Once again thanks to Matt Stevens of Flying Squad for his work on
the new setup. I've adopted Matt's settings pretty much unaltered.
The new Solo makes a very versatile kite; it's precise
enough for all the Stack competition figures; it flys at medium to
slow speed and has consistent pull. It's very stable in the
fade, so backspin cascades are very accessible. All the tricks can
be done at quite slow speed - so it's very easy to choreograph and
blend tricks in with precision.
Look out for the forthcoming review on kHiTe.
The 2005 specification is a complete retrofit for existing T2 Solos and details are on the Technical page.
As usual with our kites, you can have your choice of colours; the
Solo works equally well with a more classic colour scheme.
